on december 15, china energy investment corporation organized a seminar on china鈥檚 energy transformation strategy under the vision of carbon neutrality to listen to experts鈥?opinions and discuss the transformation, upgrading and sustainable development of the group company. on the sidelines of the event, china energy鈥檚 think tank signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the energy research institute of the national development and reform commission, the low carbon energy laboratory of tsinghua university, the cas (chinese academy of sciences) academy of mathematics and systems science (cas center for forecasting science), and the institute of industrial economics of the chinese academy of social sciences to jointly launch research on the strategic path for china energy to take the lead among chinese energy, coal and power enterprises in achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.

in years to come, china energy will further enhance the development of renewable energy, and its newly added installed capacity of renewable energy is expected to reach 70-80 million kilowatts. the company will vigorously promote the construction of 鈥淐hina energy ecological forest,鈥?planning to add more than 100,000 mu (6,700 hectares) of forestation to improve the ecological environment of mines and reduce carbon footprint. it will actively explore advanced technologies for feasibility of low-carbon fossil energy reduction, steadily promote efficiency improvement across the entire industry chain, energy saving and emission reduction, and energy electrification substitution, and accelerate achievement of zero carbon emissions in end-use sectors. multiple measures will be taken to help build a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system and spearhead low-carbon transformation among coal-based energy conglomerates.
